Bail Bond License Renewal
This license renews every two years. Go to our website for renewal options, which can be found under ONLINE SERVICES. You will receive a courtesy renewal reminder, via postcard, sent 6 weeks prior to your expiration date. Postcards cannot be forwarded so make sure your address information is current at all times. However, it is not necessary to wait for this notice. You may renew your license anytime in the 6 weeks prior to your expiration date. The department considers the renewal of your license to be your responsibility, regardless of whether you receive notice or not. All renewal options are through our website, with the online option or the mail-in option. Please contact this department at 208-334-4250 if you need to make special arrangements. Residents must complete 24 hours of CE within the two-year renewal period. There is no carry-over of credits allowed.
ONLINE renewal requires a credit card and the fee to renew is $63, if renewing prior to expiration date; $126, if renewing on or after the expiration date. You will find this option under ONLINE SERVICES. Click on Producer On-line License Renewal , put in license number and, when your license information appears, proceed as directed. You may edit your address information for this transaction. Be sure to fill in all required spaces. If you do not have information for a space, put NA. Residents will need to input CE information. This information will be found on your certificates of completion for any Idaho-approved CE courses. You will be able to access this renewal options 6 weeks prior to the expiration date of your license and 30 days after the expiration date of your license. When you have completed the online renewal process, you will be able to print a renewed license copy and a receipt for your payment to renew. If for any reason there is a glitch in the system during this process, please fax a written request for your renewed license copy to 208-334-4398. If you have changed any address information, include that in your request so that changes can be made before sending the copy.
MAIL-IN renewal requires downloading your renewal form from the website and mailing to the Department of Insurance with a check or money order in the amount of $80, if prior to expiration, $160 if after expiration. Residents may have CE penalties if CE was done after the expiration date. Please call the department to consult with the renewal clerk if you have a question about the amount you must remit. You will find the mail-in option under ONLINE SERVICES. Look for Producer License Renewal by Mail. Enter license number and click on SUBMIT. Your renewal form will appear and you can download this form. Check the address information and make any necessary changes. Initial these changes. Send this form to:
