Reduced Cigarette Ignition Propensity Law
Effective April 1, 2009, all cigarettes sold in Idaho must be fire standard compliant meeting the requirements of Idaho Code Title 39 Chapter 89.
Instructions for Manufacturers
- Each manufacturer shall submit the information required in Idaho Code 39-8904 to the Idaho State Fire Marshal. Any submission format that has been accepted by another state may be used in Idaho.
- A certification fee of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for each brand family is required. The certification is valid for three (3) years.
- Certification information and fees shall be submitted to:
