This week's volunteer spotlight shines on Laura Koester
who is involved with the SHIBA program as Advocate / Counselor.
Laura is a Pharmacy Tech at one of our local pharmacies and has a dedicated office in that pharmacy for Medicare Counseling. Laura's office is open daily through the Annual Enrollment Period for Medicare Part D / MA-PDP.
Laura has achieved a superior level of counseling Medicare members that seek her assistance each year. Her special skill as a Pharmacy Tech is invaluable when trying to decipher some of the drug lists essential to picking the best plan for the individual.
Laura's open-door policy to all Medicare members has a huge impact on those she assists, not only in the numbers of individuals she counsels every year, but to the repeat inquiries she received throughout the year as a Medicare Counselor.
Laura is a troubleshooter who is not afraid to take on any challenge ... especially if it means saving someone money. Her smile is welcoming, and her laughter is contagious.
