Important Notice Regarding Idaho Department of Insurance Web-Based Services:
NOTE: Your Idaho license number will drop the alpha prefix and any lead zero. For example, AL02048 is now 2048. Use this amended number for all transactions. Sircon's Compliance Express offers optional fee-based services including: PRODUCER SERVICES
See a flash video for How to Apply for a Resident License, How to Apply for a Non-Resident License, How to Renew your License, How to Look up Your Continuing Education Transcript, How to Look up Idaho Education Course Offerings and Providers. *This service allows you to track accumulated CE credits in your record to make sure you have completed the necessary CE prior to renewal and has been created in response to numerous requests from resident producers to have the department track CE for them. Sircon has added this ability to their web-based service by giving the Providers the means to report their course rosters electronically. This allows each producer to renew their license without having to input the course information and gives them the ability to track their individual CE credits up to the point of renewal. In order to provide this service, Sircon charges $1 per credit to the course providers. Some providers have absorbed these fees into their course price and some are charging the fees as an extra state fee. Producers who do not require that the credit be reflected in their record may let the provider know so that they can avoid the fee. If you will be sending the course completions slips with your renewal by mail, you will not need this download. If you wish to renew online, the course information needs to be in the system. We strongly encourage course providers to use the electronic system for filing course attendance rosters so that we may continue to provide this important service to our resident producers. The department cannot offer to input or maintain course rosters not downloaded by providers. To access your accumulated CE credit information, go to www.sircon.com and under Quick Starts for Agents find Look Up Education Courses/Credits. Follow the prompts to find out how many credits you have earned to date. If you have opted not to have your CE downloaded, please consult your certificates of completion. RENEWAL/REINSTATEMENT OF PRODUCER LICENSES: Idaho renews licenses for a two-year period. Renewals may be processed up to 45 days prior to expiration via sircon.com. Resident producers must complete 24 hours of approved continuing education including three hours of law/ethics credit. Do not send certificates of completion to the Department unless you are specifically requested to do so or are mailing in your renewal. Keep all original completion certificates in a personal file for a period of three years. You may check your accumulated CE credits via Compliance Express, if you have requested download, or keep the certificates for proof of completion. Check out the flash video on Sircon for How to Renew Your License. Be sure to print your license after you have renewed online. You will have 30 days to print off a free copy after online renewal. If mailing in your renewal for us to process, we will send you a license copy. There is no grace period for Idaho license renewals. If your license is not renewed before the expiration date, please go to Producer License Reinstatement . Find the appropriate reinstatement form and follow the instructions on the form. Forward with appropriate fees and attachments to the department. Once your license is reinstated, you may contact the carriers for reinstatement of your appointments. Residents please contact the department for instructions and fee information if your CE was not completed prior to your expiration date. Check out the flash video on How to Look up Idaho Education Course Offerings and Providers and How to Look up Your Continuing Education Transcript. BIRTH MONTH RENEWAL TRANSITION We will also take this opportunity to transition to a birth-month renewal. All individual licenses renewed or reinstated after September 2007 will be converted to a birth-month renewal for the following renewal period—as they are renewed. So renew up to 45 days prior to the current expiration date and your following renewal will reflect a birth-month expiration date. This new renewal date may be anywhere from 21-32 months from the date of your current expiration date and will be renewable up to 45 days prior to the end of your birth month. Once converted, all subsequent renewals will be 2 years from your new birth-month renewal date. Agency licenses will retain their current 2-year expiration cycle. You are welcome to address questions and concerns regarding licensing procedure changes to the Producer Licensing Section or check our website under the appropriate heading for this information.
